
Sport student volunteers from South Nottingham College work with the National Ice Centre on the ICE (Inspiring Community Engagement) programme. The students assist the Centre coaches with coaching school pupils from across the City learning to skate.
In December 2009 six South Nottingham College sport students were given Volunteering awards from the National Ice Centre. The students had been volunteering since September and were all awarded with the first ever N.I.C Excellence in Volunteering certificates for their commitment and excellence as part of the Capital One Ice Project.

The students have clocked up 60 hours of volunteering helping local school children to skate. They were:
