Support for Students with Mental Health Conditions
We have a specialist tutor working with students ith mental health conditions to enable them to access college and sustain courses more easily. Our aim is to work with students to reduce the effect of any difficulties they experience.
Support Available:
- Assessment, guidance and encouragement.
- Regular meetings to discuss progress and help deal with any issues that may arise.
- Liaison with referral agencies.
- Home visits and individual student visits to college for familiarisation.
- Help with administration, study skills and course work.
- Provision of a Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
- Liaison, mutual guidance and support with course tutors.
- Organising alternative exam arrangements.
The tutor receives ongoing supervision from Rushcliffe Mental Health Team and there is liaison with local and national Mental Health Agencies and colleagues in local colleges.
