Throughout the college year you will have the opportunity to be involved in trips, sports sessions, volunteering opportunities and awareness events. You can be involved in as much or as little as you like. Taking part in some of the organised activities will look great on your CV or UCAS application and we also hope that it will contribute to a great college experience.
In your first year at college the Learner Involvement Team will deliver tutorials based on discrimination, alcohol, balanced lifestyle, sexual health, contraception, drugs, and personal safety.
The team will also offer Sexual Health services where you will be able to access free Sexual Health Testing and C Card registration and pick up.
Being a Class Rep is your chance to make a difference to you and your class. You will attend monthly School forums where you will meet with other class reps and a staff member from your School and the Learner Involvement team. The purpose of the forum is to give you and your class the opportunity to discuss issues and work together to organise events.
Each School will have one or two class reps (dependent on size) who will then act as the School Reps. These reps will attend the Student Council which is a cross college group that meets to discuss wider college issues such as the refectory, end of term events and themed weeks.
All students when they receive their college entitlement card automatically become democratic voting members of The National Union of Students. This is a national union lobbying and representing student issues across the UK.
NUS Extra is the definitive student discount card with a range of exclusive discounts, offers and competitions designed to make student life more exciting, more memorable and more rewarding.
