Applicants will not be refused access to college courses for which they meet the entry criteria on the grounds of a criminal record, unless their presence presents a risk to others/college property or their criminal record will limit their success on a particular course.
Applicants are asked to disclose a criminal record or conviction and a risk assessment is undertaken in a discrete and sensitive way. Potential students will be given guidance/advice if their choice of course will not be achievable (e.g. there is mandatory work placement) or if future employment will be difficult. Support will be offered for students who wish to take it.
