About Tiggy Coxon
Tiggy Coxon has been lecturer in 2D & 3D design in the Creative Techniques Department at South Nottingham College for over 20 years. Jewellery pieces are made in mixed metals combining sterling silver with copper and/or brass and perspex combined with silver.
Designs have been inspired by underwater imagery observed and photographed when scuba diving on coral reefs. Current designs have concentrated on the spines of the lion fish and of the mermaid's purse. Diving has offered a first hand opportunity to observe the intricate and delicate beauty of the underwater world and the jewel like quality and fluidity of this environment translates easily into precious pieces.
Under current hallmarking legislation items under 7.78g silver content do not require hallmarking.
