University First International Foundation Programme
The University First International Foundation Programme is a three-term intensive course that prepares students from outside the UK for studying at a wide range of universities in the UK. The total length of study is one academic year.
What is an International Foundation Programme?
International Foundation Programmes are designed for international students whose school leaving qualifications from their home country will not allow them to progress directly to a British university degree programme. If you have only completed 12 years of school education it is likely that you will need to complete an International Foundation Programme before you can apply to university.

Entry Requirement
- Over 17 years old
- High school certificate with average academic grades over 80%
- "IELTS 5.0 for the September intake and 5.5 for the January intake. For Management & Economics IELTS 5.5 is required for September, with IELTS 6.0 for January.
Start Date and Duration
September 2012 to June 2012 (9 months)
January 2013 to August 2013 (9 months)
Course fee
Tuition fees (2012-2013): £12,950 pounds per year Students shall make a deposit payment before accepting offer of University First Programme.

Student Bursary
Outstanding students from Chinese mainland are entitled to bursaries up to 10,000 pounds per year. For further information, please liaise with University First Asia Office.
The bursary policy for UF students (Chinese mainland) is as follows:
- IELTS 5.5 1,000 pounds
- IELTS 6.0 1,500 pounds
- IELTS 6.5 2,000 pounds
- IELTS 7.0 2,500 pounds
- IELTS 7.5 10,000 pounds
