Are you aged 19+ and interested in studying with us but worried about money?

We're here to help!

For information on help for students aged 16-18 please click here.

Learning Grant (ALG)

We have not received confirmation that ALG will be in place for 2011/12, so contact the Student Finance Team on (0115) 884 2336/2223 the most up-to-date details.

Discretionary Learner Support Funds

The Government will be providing us with funds to help you if you are aged 19 or over at the start of your course. We are committed to targeting support to help students with the greatest need, and so we assess all requests. Some examples of the costs which we may be able to help with are:

If you are concerned that you will struggle with the costs of studying and you would like to apply for help, please request an application form. These should available from Centre Receptions or from the Student Finance Team, from July onwards.

Assisted Travel

To help you with your travel costs, local bus operators have their own special offers and we are working with them to get the best deals for you. We are also looking at ways to support you if you wish to travel to College by bicycle. Depending on your circumstances, you may also be eligible for help with travel costs via the College's Access Funds

Childcare

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for childcare support whilst at College. As funds are very limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis, early application is advised.

Further details on EMA and College financial support are available on the College website and updates will be posted there regularly, so please keep checking. If you do not have access to the website or want any guidance on financial support, please contact the Student Finance Team on (0115) 884 2336/2223
