Courses are run at the Charnwood Centre, which provides a well-equipped environment for study with specialist art and design studios on a greenfield-site campus.

Foundation Degree in Computer Games and Interactive Media

Computer games and interactive products are now the most influential of all communication media enjoying huge growth in recent years. The Foundation Degree has been developed to support this growth by educating and preparing students directly for this industry. The course was written with the industry to identify the needs for the latest developments in games and interactive media products. This has been achieved through its new unique pathway structure (FdA/FdSC). This structure will help students gain specialist practice whilst working collectively in wider multi-disciplined teams enabling students to access relevant careers. The Arts or Science route (FdA/FdSC) is a nationally unique aspect to this course that should enable all students to practice the subject more effectively.

Foundation Degree in Photography

The Foundation Degree in Photography aims to provide aspriring professional photographers an extended understanding of their medium and to prepare them for the demands of a rapidly changing industry in the 21st Century.

This multi disciplinary Fine Art based course offers and embraces a wide range of Visual Arts disciplines, allowing students to work in the materials and methods of their choice (in negotiation with tutors), including drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, photography, installation, intervention, performance and digital technologies. This is structured around projects that are designed to stimulate and challenge creative individuals. A key benefit of the Foundation Degree is that South Nottingham College has progression links with Nottingham Trent University, offering the successful student an option of third year BA Hons study at the University.
