The College's expanding portfolio of courses has been developed in partnership with many local, regional and national sporting bodies. These partnerships enable the Sport Science team to keep up to date with key issues and developments in the industry.
Teaching staff possess a unique combination of Sport Science degrees, teaching qualifications and a depth of industrial experience in the sport and exercise field. The Sport Science team boasts senior international representative, coaches and practising sports and exercise scientists.
Work experience in the industry forms an integral part of the Sport and Exercise Science course. Students are also given the opportunity to gain further sports qualifications as part of the enrichment programme including YMCA courses, FA Sports Injuries courses and national governing body awards. A number of College sports teams facilitate both competitive and recreational participation.
Many students combine their studies with coaching and personal development with the Men's Basketball and Men's Football and mixed Volleyball Athlete Performance Programmes.
A rapidly developing and expanding sports and fitness industry is becoming increasingly more competent in a range of sport and exercise disciplines. This qualification will enable students to acquire a large number of transferable skills that will allow them to enter a variety of coaching, supervisory and management careers within the sports, health and fitness industry. It can also be taken as a step prior to the completion of a degree in sport science.
