The course fee listed for each course is the one you pay - THERE ARE NO HIDDEN EXTRAS (students who are entitled to remitted fees should refer to the conditions further down).
There are a number of ways that students can pay their course fees:
We will endeavour to run all courses for the first two weeks irrespective of numbers enrolled. Where it is not viable to run the course during or after this time then we will have to close the course. If the College closes a course of more than 10 weeks during the first 3 weeks, students are automatically entitled to a full refund of course tuition fees. For courses of less than 10 weeks, or cost recovery courses, refunds will not be given after the course starts. Administration fees and charges for other course related items (eg registration fees) may not be fully refunded. Normally after this period, the course will not be cancelled. However, if circumstances arise where a course has to be closed after this period, fees will be refunded on a pro rata basis. The College refund policy is available on request or refer to the back of the enrolment form.
A summary can be found on the back of the enrolment form/learning agreement.
In most cases you will find inclusive fees. This means that we have already included your Examination and Registration Fees. However some registration fees have not been included, in this case you will be advised during interview. You may find that because there are NO ADDITIONAL HIDDEN CHARGES that the cost of the course is CHEAPER than other providers.
Fee remission is available on most courses except those marked CR (Cost Recovery). These leisure programmes are not subsidised, which means that they are funded solely through fee income. Consequently everyone attending pays the full fee.
Registrations have to be submitted to the board after the student begins the relevant course. Where students pay their own fees the registration fee will be payable within 4 weeks. In the case of students who have fees paid by their employer, the employer will be invoiced for the tuition and registration fees at the same time. Remember that we need a letter from the employer naming the student and stating their willingness to pay.
In all cases it is important to remember that studetns will still need to enter for exams/register with the awarding body. Details of how to do this will be provided to you by your tutor.
Some part-time courses will need the students to purchase additional materials. The College will attempt and inform students of such costs at the start of the course.
Exam boards also levy additional late entry fees that the students is responsible for (see above).
The College is legally required to record that we have seen the benefit documents of students wishing to claim reduced fees so PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING THEM WITH YOU WHEN YOU ENROL or send a photocopy if by postal enrolment.
For those enrolling by telephone/fax no remission of fees can be given as documentary evidence must be seen before remission can be granted. Students must have their credit card details available.
Please bring original documents and a photocopy or the staff at College will take copies of your documents for you, if this is more convenient (these are required for audit records). This will save both yourself and the College time and effort and ensure that your application/enrolment is processed smoothly. Details of what you need are on the back of the enrolment form.
Students must let the College have their National Insurance Number when they enrol. This is a legal requirement for all Colleges.
If you enrol in person and wish to claim remitted fees, the relevant document showing the type of benefits and your name and address must be produced at the time of enrolment.
If a student's circumstances regarding benefit change part-way through the course, they must inform the College immediately.
