Some 11-14 year old students find the transition to secondary school a challenge and consequantly become disengaged with the curriculum and general school life. The 3EP programme is designed to give these students a break from the school environment and attempt to get them back on track and ready to reach their potential in Key Stage 4. The 3EP programme will either operate over 2 full days or 4 afternoons or mornings per week. Students will engage in a variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors, which will be designed to stimulate their personal learning and thinking skills and functional and wider key skills. The 3EP students will be allocated their own tutor who will provide continual feedback to schools.
The 3EP programme will initially recruit a maximum of 14 students and the timetabling of the programme will be in close collaboration with those schools that have selected students to engage. It is important that the 3EP learners do not miss their core entitlement in school (English, Maths and Science), therefore some common key stage 3 alternative provision timetabled sessions/days could be agreed between those schools that wish to engage with 3EP.
Cost of Provision: £700 points per learner per year (this will include all activities and other resources)

Most 14-16 year old students will be in full time education in secondary school. However for a small number of students, an alternative to school is what is needed to ensure success and continued progression. These students may be allocated a personalised programme of study to reflect their needs and interests and will attend college on a full-time basis. Students will take up places on the Choices at 14 programmes and study GCSEs or Functional Skills in English and Maths and Wider Key Skills. A designated tutor will be allocated to this group of students and each student will experience weekly group and individual tutorial sessions, as well as experienced and impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG).
Cost of Provision: £1500 per learner per year
