The South Nottingham College Men’s Basketball Performance Programme aims to achieve excellence in academic and basketball performance.
2-4 training sessions per week, mandatory and supervised strength and conditioning sessions and mandatory summer development programme, that includes participation in the Nottingham summer league and competitive games against the England u16 Men’s team.
The Men’s Basketball Performance Programme will compete in the British Colleges, English Schools Championships, Sherwood local league and will also play competitive friendly matches against local national league teams.
The South Notts College Men’s Basketball Performance Programme will be a feeder Programme into the development squad and first team of The Hoods Basketball Club who compete in Division 4 of the EBL National League. The Hoods have positive links with Nottinghamshire Nova who compete in the Junior National league and the Junior Hoods Basketball Clubs. These teams will work alongside each other and players will have the maximum opportunity to compete at various levels of basketball.
Student athletes will have an opportunity to undergo a coach education programme including EBA Coach Level 1 and 2 and also a placement programme. They will also have free access to Sports science and sports therapy support.
Men’s Basketball is based at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena, which is undoubtedly the best and most prestigious basketball facility in England.
